Rotten Sound: Species at war
31/01/13 || jaimeviejo
While the band Nails has been getting a lot of attention with its brutal version of grind/crust core, mixed with a Swedish death metal guitar tone, the band’s sound wasn’t something new or unique, it was done before, and it was done by Finnish finest grinders Rotten Sound. “Species at War” is a letter to all those bands who thought they were something special for a second. The letter reads like this:
Here in Rotten Sound headquarters. We care about our listeners. Since 1993 we have been destroying stages and eardrums with unrelenting blasts of grind-core. Now, to start this New Year, we want to give you a taste of what is going on with our sound, but guess what? There is nothing new under the sun in these eight minutes of brutality. We, Rotten Sound, continue to pervert music like no other, so we are not looking in the near future to introduce synths or clean vocals. That’s not our business.
This new ep contains six songs in eight minutes, and you can basically hear our barbaric and thick HM-2 wall of distortion, our mentally disturbed drummer blasting his heart out, angry vocals, and some cool riffs and grooves.
Soon we will release our new album which is going to be for sure the best grindcore album of that coming year. We think that this is a tasty threat for all of you guys.
Regards,
Rotten Sound
